Flame Spray Inc. was founded in 1966 and since its inception has developed and maintained a reputation industry wide for high quality, state of the art equipment and immediate response to customers delivery requirements for all types of Thermal Sprayed coating applications. For the first 5 years of existence, FSI's primary customer base derived itself from the nuclear industry. Our Quality Assurance program and document control was developed to meet the stringent requirements of nuclear specifications. These policies and procedures, coupled with a management staff that combines over 200 years of expertise in the Thermal Spray industry has established FSI as a leader in the field for the past 35 years.

FSI holds numerous patents for unique applications such as anti-fouling coatings, nuclear absorption coatings and shielding of plasma and HVOF coatings. FSI's management group is very active and has published numerous papers in support of Thermal Sprayed coatings for AWS, ASTM, JADA and NACE. Another key to FSI's success is our unique "Operator Training Program". This program was developed in 1972 and has been ongoing ever since.

Our corporate office is in San Diego, California where we have over 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We have dedicated a large portion of our facility to support the Thermal Spray requirements for our customers that are repairing jet engines for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (JT8D JT3D. JT9D), Rolls Royce (RB21 1) and General Electric CF6 (and land base turbine engines LM1500 and 2500).
