The advance creates seamless composite structures in one step, eliminating the cost and problems laminating materials in roll form. The technology applied to commercial roofing under the WeatherWeld trade name, has been providing roofing with superior performance, longevity, and sustainability for the past twenty years without failure, on critical public and private buildings. Under the EnviroWeld name, the technology has created barrier systems that are eliminating maintenance and herbicide use around guradrails for Caltrans, and water containment structures for agriculture and industrial ponds.

Manufacturing Processes

The Liquiform manufacturing advance increased the length of reinforcement strand shot from a composite chopper gun from 1 inch to 24 inches. The reinforcement matrix is cut, oriented all directions, and completely coated with binder before it conforms smoothly to any shape surface without any finishing. The increase in reinforcement length makes possible composite manufacturing using flexible, safer, less expensive, water based binders which create a flexible composite with strength and the unique ability to stretch.
