Phenotype Pharmaceuticals

Phenotype Pharmaceuticals manufactures and sells high quality medical masks, made/assembled in California for use by healthcare professionals, essential workers, and the general public. We currently have available ASTM level 3 surgical masks and 5-layer face masks. N95 (NIOSH approved) surgical respirators will be coming soon. To ensure the high quality of our products, we source our raw materials as much as possible from US suppliers. Finished products are tested by independent laboratories.

Products and Services

Our surgical masks are currently authorized by  the FDA under an enforcement policy (August 2020), and are pending authorization by the FDA under a surgical masks EUA (Appendix A list).

Our 5-layer face masks are authorized by the FDA under an EUA for face masks as source control (April 2020).

Manufacturing Processes

Manufacturing processes includes:
Automatic assembly of electrostatically charged polypropylene meltblown fabric (filter material) and metal nose piece between an inner and outer layer of polypropylene spunbond fabric.

Ultrasonic welding of fabric layers together, and of earloops to the side of the mask.
