Manufacturing Processes

Plain Language:
We make our soaps using the cold process method, where natural oils and butters react with lye to form soap with a rich, smooth lather. This process also produces natural glycerin, which helps keep your skin soft and moisturized.

Scientific Description:
Our soaps are made using cold process saponification, a chemical reaction between triglycerides (from oils and butters) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). This reaction produces soap (sodium salts of fatty acids) and glycerin as a natural by-product. Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it attracts and retains moisture, which helps keep skin hydrated and soft. By applying Le Chatelier's Principle, the reaction naturally shifts towards completion as the sodium hydroxide reacts with the oils, leaving no NaOH in the final soap. The soap bars are then cured for 4–6 weeks to allow excess water to evaporate, resulting in a firm, long-lasting product.
