Students from Madera County High Schools will participate in two Industry tours. They will return to Madera Community College Center for lunch, a tour of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and an opportunity to visit with manufacturers at booths. The day will end with a presentation about how to prepare for work in manufacturing and the interview process.

Junior high and high school students from the Inland Empire region are participating in a Manufacturing Day Expo in recognition of National Manufacturing Day 2017. At this event, students will meet with local manufacturers and engage in interesting, hands-on activities. Students will also tour the facilities at the Industrial Technical Learning (InTech) Center and have a chance to meet with additional local manufacturers in the Inland Empire. Refreshments will be provided; this event is free of charge to participants and is sponsored by Chaffey College’s Economic Development Department, the California Community College Chancellor’s Doing What Matters Campaign, the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA), and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools - Alliance for Education.

The Machinist Technology Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in manufacturing. The courses are designed to train first-time students and to re-train those employed in the machine trades industry. 

Tour one of the oldest Machinist programs in the Inland Empire, conventional and computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools, computer aided drafting (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) computer lab. Classes start January 2018.

We are a full service sheet metal fabrication facility. We have some interesting machinery including a large laser cutter and an ultra high pressure water jet cutter. All visitors must wear closed toe shoes.

Visitor can expect to see CNC Lathes and CNC Mills in action plus the lapping process to produce the part flatness our customers require. Women Who Weld is hosting an Intro to MIG Welding Class for Women on Manufacturing Day, Friday, October 6, 2017 from 8:30am-12:30pm at Molten Metal Works in Glendale! Women Who Weld is a Detroit-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit welding training program that teaches women how to weld and find employment in manufacturing. 

Samantha Farr, Women Who Weld's Founder and Instructor, and Thea Ulrich of Molten Metal Works will lead the workshop. We can accept a maximum of 12 participants, but will have a wait list and will notify those on the wait list if an opening becomes available.

The Machine Technology faculty at Fullerton College will provide demonstrations on advanced manufacturing equipment. Machines running demonstrations will include of 2,3,4 and 5 axis CNC machining and turning centers along with CMM machines and Laser scanning inspection technologies. Printing technology faculty will demonstrate several printing processes, including screen printing, flexographic and digital printing. High school students will learn about the basic printing process and see examples of how the process of printing produces color images. Additionally, PAC MIN, manufacturer in desktop and exhibit models for the aerospace industry, will be showcasing model and display products to the students.

Royal Welding and Fabricating has over 50 successful years of engineering, designing, and producing high quality, custom designed and fabricated stainless steel and aluminum vacuum chambers, high pressure tanks, storage tanks and reactors. 

There will be a facility tour regarding the process of custom engineering, design and manufacturing of high quality tanks for pharmaceutical and food process tanks.

Saddleback College has been the first choice for higher education and training in South Orange County since 1968. Our rich academic traditions and strong reputation make Saddleback College an ideal place for students seeking associate degrees and certificates, transferring to four-year colleges and universities, preparing for the workforce, or pursuing lifelong learning opportunities. 

Local high school students will be touring the advanced manufacturing lab at Saddleback College and participating in a 3D design competition and mold-making project. 

Approximately 90 high school students will visit Santa Ana College (SAC) for lab tours and presentations. Students will see a demonstration of solid modeling design, 3D printing, laser cutting, 3D scanning and robotics at SAC Engineering. Manufacturing Technology faculty will provide students with the opportunity to design a part using CAD/CAM software and then learn to machine it using CNC equipment. While touring the Welding Technology department, students will be able to experience using the MIG, Plasma, Arc and Laser welding processes and receive hands-on experience with the Lincoln Electric Demo Truck. 

Senga Engineering, founded in 1979, is a privately held veteran owned company located in Santa Ana, California. Senga is participating in Manufacturing DAY to demonstrate our CNC machining capabilities and expertise for students enthusiastic about the manufacturing industry, and our company is looking for talented men and women to be part of our team! Since we are a machine shop, we ask students and educators to wear closed toe-shoes.
